Qigong Practice
Taught by Heather MacDonald

Qigong is an ancient practice developed out of China from the Taoist tradition and can be defined as Energy Cultivation. The practice is based on the concept that there is a vital force, an underlying flow of energy, both within the physical body and extending from it. This system of energy is the template from which the physical body manifests and functions.

Health, Healing and longevity are found when the energetic body is in balance and energy is flowing freely without blockage or stagnation. Qigong practices are a way of cultivating, balancing, and harmonizing Qi in order to create a free flow of energy within the human body.

Each weekly class will include a short lecture, some gentle movements or warm-ups, and the introduction of a new form and/or a deeping into one previously taught. Qigong forms include both Nei Dan (internal or seated/lying meditation) and Wei Dan (external or moving meditation). No prior experience is necessary. All ages and abilities are welcome, this is a gentle practice which can be accessed by most anyone.
