Journey into the Elements: Yin Yoga

Taught by Heather MacDonald

Learn about the elements thru Taoist philosophy and the practice of yin yoga. Each class will include yin postures that work to activate, clear stagnation and re-balance each element’s energy within our bodies by working with the corresponding meridians associated with each element. Learn where your 12 organ meridians are located, their associated organs and elements and how to work with them through yoga postures.

Heather is passionate about reunification with our natural world and its wild and organic ways, she firmly believes true health and healing can be found when we reconnect and return to harmony with nature. Heather’s mission is to inspire, guide and nurture her students to explore and connect with the beauty of nature within and around us through the practice of yoga and qigong.  Heather’s knowledge of anatomy and alignment as well as the subtle energy body and the movements of prana/qi, provide a safe, structured environment where one can dive deeper into their practice and their own personal journey to self-healing.

Heather completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in Boulder Colorado at the Yoga Pod in 2012 and went on to study at the Colorado School of Yoga, completing her 300 hour training in 2016.  In 2017, Heather trained with Kate Mulheron, Kelly Kessen and Trudy Welty of Earth Ways Yoga.  Heather has also studied Qigong and Energy-Body Healing with Damaris Jarboux at The Center Place in Boulder, Colorado.  Heather teaches Qigong meditation, practices energy-body work and often infuses her knowledge of the energy body into her Vinyasa, Yin and Gentle yoga classes.
