Deep stabilizing muscles become inhibited when we experience pain and injury. They do not just naturally come back online, but we have to specifically retrain the entire core, including the breath, to work together. To be healthy, the deep core has to have synergy of the diaphragm, pelvic floor, transversus abdominis and multifidus. Many traditional core exercises repetitively increase intra-abdominal pressure putting downward forces on the pelvic floor. When done repetitively, this can lead to core and pelvic floor dysfunction.
In this workshop, you will learn the theory behind Hypopressive (low pressure) Breathing and the importance of reducing intra-abdominal pressure to recover from pelvic floor dysfunction. It has similarities to the ancient yogic breathing exercise called uddiyana bandha. You will practice hypopressive breathing and learn five of the ten Low Pressure Fitness exercises, created by Tamara Rial and Piti Pinsach from Spain, for the prevention and restoration of pelvic health. Come to learn this revolutionary global postural and breathing technique to synergistically rehab the core and heal from chronic injury patterns! This will be an introductory workshop into the theory and practice of this method.
